The poem was written in 1823 but the other dates are significant too. In 1931, Coca Cola commissioned Haddon Sundblom to paint Santa ads; in 1644, English Parliament banned Christmas; and, in 1545, Martin Luther banned Santa.

5. Which country issued the first Christmas stamp?
	Canada	Brazil
	Austria	Vatican
Canada was first, issuing a special stamp that said 'Xmas 1898'. However, some argue that the honour should go to Hungary, which issued 3 stamps especially for Christmas in 1943. It wasn't until the late 1950's that Christmas stamps became widespread.
